L2 Empuraan Box Office Collection Day 4: Mohanlal And Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Film Sees An Upward Trend, Crosses Rs 50 Crore Mark

Malayalam L2: Empuraan of Prithviraj Sukumaran, leading Mohanlal, is still running very successfully in local theaters. The follow-up of Prithviraj’s directorial debut Lucifer from 2019 that became a bomb Empuraan is being praised for being one of the most ambitious projects in Malayalam cinema. Last Sunday, it was the fourth day of the appearance of the movie at the box office. With the weekend collection of Rs 14 crores the film has seen an upward trend. This was just a little more than the income on Saturday of Rs 13.25 crore that itself was an improvement from Friday’s Rs 11.1 crore collection.

Nonetheless, the most effective day of the show’s display time to day was its debut (Thursday), wherein it amounted up to Rs 21 crore across five languages, as per Sacnilk’s source. On Sunday, Empuraan accounted for the major part of its income – Rs 13 crore – from the one spoken in Malayalam, trailed by Rs 45 lakh from the Tamil language, Rs 31 lakh from the Telugu language, Rs 20 lakh from the Hindi language, and Rs 4 lakh from the Kannada language.

Consequently, the total box office revenue of the movie in India is currently Rs 59.35 crore, which is a bit short of the Rs 60 crore mark. Empuraan has done well, though all the while it was among the films that had stirred the hornets’ nest because of the specific mention of the 2002 Gujarat riots has been performing. The movie brought to light by Murali Gopy is directed and produced by Aashirvad Cinemas. This is already the third directorial work of Prithviraj with Mohanlal, following Lucifer and Bro Daddy. Apart from the historical significance of becoming the first Malayalam movie to be released in IMAX, Empuraan has also set a new record for Malayalam cinema.
