Nadaaniyan Actor Jugal Hansraj Slams “Personal Attacks” On Ibrahim Ali Khan, Khushi Kapoor Amid Backlash
Jugal Hansraj is primarily recognized for his appearance in the 2000 film Mohabbatein

New Delhi:
Nadaaniyan, starring Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor released on Netflix on March 7. The movie generated extreme backlash from viewers and critics towards the poor acting by the lead cast. Nadaaniyan’s plot was also not free from trolling.
Now, Jugal Hansraj, an actor, has taken the side of the newcomers. He disapproved of critics who launched “personal attacks“ on Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor.
Jugal Hansraj played Ibrahim Ali Khan’s father Dr Sanjay Mehta, in Nadaaniyan.
Jugal Hansraj, speaking with India Today Digital, stated, “Criticism has to be constructive. If someone who is aware of cinema or has some experience in that department has a show or an article where they talk about what went right and what went wrong, that is something that one can learn from.
The actor, who has earned fame for his performance in Mohabbatein, also stated, “On social media, I feel that there are a lot of personal attacks, which are not criticism. It is just being silly and petty. Who am I to say that it is bad? I just say that it did not work for me, or I did not click with it. But some people proclaim as if they know everything”.
ugal Hansraj also considered how the lack of social media in the past allowed actors to develop. “In the ’80s, a lot of actors started fresh with their first films, but there was no social media, so they were given time and space to grow and better themselves. There was equal discomfort in all of us when we began, but due to the absence of social media, there wasn’t this unjust scrutiny.
Talking about the current situation, Jugal Hansraj said, “Now, unfortunately, young actors – not only these two, but numerous others – are in intense glare. Personal insults are not trendy. If you have something constructive to offer, please do. That sort of criticism makes actors learn and improve. But personal insults regarding appearance get messy and complicated. I am clearly not in support of that sort of criticism.”.
Nadaaniyan, which is helmed by Shauna Gautam, is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment.
