According to the latest report by Sacnilk.com, Kesari Chapter 2 is going great guns at the box office. Released in cinemas on April 18, the movie opened to good reviews, which has been converted into good business. In just 10 days of its release, the movie has earned more than ₹65 crore, beating the disappointing figures of some of Akshay Kumarrecent moviessuch as Khel Khel Mein.

As per the portal, the eighth day of the run, which was also the second Friday of the filmrecorded a total collection of ₹4.05 crore. Day 9 witnessed notable growth, garnering ₹7.15 crore, which was 76.54% more than the day before. By Day 10, which was the second Sunday, Kesari Chapter 2 had collected ₹8.10 crore, with growth of 13.29%. To date, the movie has collected another ₹0.16 croretaking the collection to ₹65.56 crore (nett) up to Day 11.

Compared to some of Akshay Kumar’s previous works, the box performance of the film is impressive. For example, the comedy Khel Khel Mein only managed to collect a mere ₹39.29 crore in eight weeks, whereas the inspirational drama Sarfira collected ₹24.85 crore in 34 days. Kesari Chapter 2 is projected to beat Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which reached its end at ₹65.96 crore in 56 days.

Starring Akshay Kumar along with R Madhavan and Ananya Panday, Kesari Chapter 2 has already collected more than ₹46 crore by the current estimates. Directed by Dharma Productions, the movie is based on real-life events, portraying the real life of lawyer C Sankaran Nair, who engaged in a fierce battle in the court against the British Empire during the 1920s. The film is based on the book The Case That Shook the Empire, which is about the 1924 defamation trial in which Michael ODwyer, the ex-Lieutenant Governor of Punjab and the mastermind behind Jallianwala Bagh massacre, sued Nair for denouncing British atrocities in his work.
