Noida Police Shuts Down Huge Tech Support Scam against Americans; 76 Arrested, Call Centre Seized

Noida Police shuts down a huge imitation call centre targeting Americans with tech support frauds; 76 arrested and computer equipment confiscated in high-profile sting.

Noida Police have busted a massive fake call centre called Insta Solution that was cheating foreign nationals, particularly American citizens, with tech support scams. In a well-planned raid on Thursday afternoon, the authorities apprehended 76 people, including 9 women, from the scam operation.

Based out of an industry in Noida, the fraud syndicate impersonated representatives from well-known firms such as Amazon and Microsoft, providing fake services like “Amazon Parcel Support,” “Tax Support,” and “Pay-Day Loan Processes.” The victims were cheated out of thousands of dollars for different reasons.

Sophisticated Modus Operandi

The gang used advanced methods to deceive unsuspecting victims, as per officials:

Data Sourcing: The fraudsters obtained personal details of victims who were foreign nationals through Skype, making payments in USDT cryptocurrency to ensure the transactions were untraceable.

Tech Support Scams: Victims received calls from scammers impersonating Microsoft representatives, claiming to experience significant technical problems with their devices and requesting payments of at least $99 to “fix” the issues.

Amazon Loan & Gift Card Scam: Victims were tricked into paying $100–$500 via gift cards from Apple, eBay, or Walmart. When payment didn’t go through, fake cheques were drawn to take advantage of banking transactions.

Voice Message Threats: Threatening voice messages threatened victims with compromised accounts or unauthorized deliveries and coerced them into making additional payments to “protect” their Amazon accounts.

Exclusive Targeting of Foreigners: To escape the legal consequences faced by locals, the syndicate exclusively targeted foreigners, mostly residing in the United States.

Seizures During the Operation

During the operation carried out during the raid performed at approximately 12:45 PM, law enforcement seized quite a lot of digital and communications equipment utilized for the operation:

  • 58 laptops

  • 1 Apple MacBook

  • 45 laptop chargers

  • 24 mobile phones

  • 45 headphones

  • 2 routers

Masterminds and Legal Action

The fraud was allegedly masterminded by Kurnal Ray, Sauram Rajput, Sadiq, and Sajid Ali, who all have previous criminal convictions. Investigations are continuing to track their entire network and potential international connections.
