Pak Army Crosses Line of Control, Opens Fire, India Retaliates: Army Sources

During their 2021 meeting, senior military commanders of the two sides had agreed to address issues that could result in violence.

In a major breach of the ceasefire along the Line of Control, the Pakistani Army entered into Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, the sources in the Army stated.

“On April 1, a mine explosion was triggered in the Krishna Ghati area in Pakistan Army incursion across the Line of Control. This was followed by Pakistan Army’s unprovoked firing and ceasefire breach,” a source added. “Our forces responded well in a calibrated and controlled manner. The situation is well in hand and is being kept under close watch,” the Army source added.

No casualties were reported in the incident. And the Indian Army has once again emphasized the significance of adhering to the precepts of mutual understanding between the Director Generals of Military Operations of the two nations for ensuring peace along the Line of Control.

During their 2021 talks, senior commanders of the two adversaries committed to resolving issues that can cause violence. Both sides had concurred on all agreements, understandings and ceasefire along the Line of Control.
