Dhankhar compares Op Sindoor with Osama bin Laden‘s assassination
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday compared Operation Sindoor with the assassination of Osama bin Laden by US troops in Pakistan.
Terming raids on nine terror camps in Pakistan as the “deepest-ever cross-border strike“ of India, the vice president reminisced about the September 11, 2001 terror attacks on the United States.
Without referring to bin Laden, he stated that on May 2, 2011, a world terrorist who plotted, directed, and conducted September 11 attacks within the US was “taken care of” by the US forces “in the same way”.
“Bharat has done it. And done it in front of the world,” he stated while speaking at an event of Jaipuria institutions here.
He stated that a new “global benchmark“ had been established. While upholding the theme of peace, the aim has been to target terrorism.
He added that Britain is collaborating
the U.S. to provide for a ceasefire between India and Pakistan to be lasting and for “confidence-building measures“ and talks to occur, Foreign Minister David Lammy stated on Saturday.
We will keep working with the United States to make sure we obtain a lasting ceasefire, to make sure that there is dialogue occurring and to work through with Pakistan and India how we can achieve confidence and confidence-building measures between the two,” Mr. Lammy said in Islamabad at the conclusion of a two-day visit.
Inquired whether India‘s suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, the possibility of strangulating Pakistan‘s water supply, Mr. Lammy replied: “We would urge all parties to fulfill their treaty commitments.”

“A bigger success than I’ll ever be given credit for. Those are major nuclear powers. Those are not like a little bit, and they were angry,” Mr. Trump said in an interview to Fox News on Friday (May 16, 2025).
Mr. Trump was questioned regarding the “couple of foreign policy successes“ prior to his Middle East trip, when he reached for the phone and dialed India and Pakistan. Mr. Trump said, “I did, ya“.
