“India Strikes Back: Army Destroys Terror Launchpads Near LoC, Issues Strong Message”

Indian Army launches precision attacks on terrorist launchpads close to the LoC as retaliation against Pakistani drone and missile attacks; video released demonstrates resolute military action.

New Delhi, May 10, 2025 — In a daring and rapid counterresponse to mounting cross-border aggression, the Indian Army has blasted several terrorist launchpads along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. The action, taken on Friday, was a direct response to a coordinated barrage of drone attacks and missile strikes fired across the border by Pakistan in the last 48 hours.

The Indian Army on Saturday released dramatic video footage of the pinpoint strikes, affirming that the target launchpads were major centers of infiltration and terrorism planning against Indian security forces and civilians.

“The Indian Army’s decisive and swift response has caused substantial damage to terrorist capabilities and infrastructure,” the Army stated in an official statement, emphasizing the precision and timing of the strike.

The launchpads had been apparently watched for years and were also found to facilitate the terrorist networks present in the region with tactical as well as strategic support from behind the border.

The reaction is in response to Pakistan having released Turkish-made Byker YIHA III kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicles that carry high-yield payloads into densely populated civilian areas in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab state, including the city of Amritsar, Defence Ministry officials said. Indian integrated Air Defence (AAD) grid intercepted and destroyed the kamikaze vehicles in mid-air within seconds after they entered the country’s air space, potentially saving thousands from mass casualties.

At a high-level press briefing in New Delhi, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, and Colonel Sofiya Qureshi outlined Pakistan’s multi-faceted attack plan. Colonel Qureshi asserted that the Pakistan military had fired a high-speed missile at an Indian airbase in Punjab around 1:40 AM on May 9.

At the same time, Indian military facilities in Srinagar, Avantipura, and Udhampur were attacked by Pakistani fighter aircraft and hovering ammunition. A total of 26 sites have been confirmed by India to have been targeted — a mix of drone attacks, missile strikes, and aerial bombardments.

Indian officials denied Pakistan’s belligerent means vehemently, categorically rejecting that there was substantial damage to military facilities and asserting the nation’s determination for national security and territorial integrity.

“This measured escalation will be met with proportionate and firm response at all levels,” Wing Commander Singh said, indicating India’s preparedness for more retaliatory operations if attacked again.

The LoC situation remains charged, with troops on both sides in a state of high alert. Indian authorities remain vigilant to monitor movements along the border and are said to be ready for further counter-operations if needed.
