The accused in a Rs 95 crore cyber fraud is granted anticipatory bail by the Allahabad High Court.

The Allahabad High Court has granted anticipatory bail to Vivek Jaiswal, accused in a ₹95 crore cyber fraud case. Justice Gautam Chaudhary issued the order on July 23, 2025, stating that if Jaiswal is arrested, he will be released on bail immediately. Jaiswal alleged that he had been falsely implicated and had no charge sheet yet filed against him, although charges have been framed against other co-accused. The court accepted his assurances of full cooperation and timely appearances. Police in Azamgarh busted an alleged cyber fraud syndicate operating an online gaming platform called “Cricket Buzz.” The gang lured victims with promises to double or triple their money and siphoned funds from 208 bank accounts, freezing approximately ₹1 crore. Seven members were arrested from Pandeypur in Varanasi under sections of the BNS, Public Gambling Act, and IT Act. The court accepted Jaiswal’s assurances of full cooperation and timely appearances. Legal analysts note that while anticipatory bail is not routine, courts may exercise discretion where prima facie evidence is lacking or the accused offers conditional cooperation.
