New Delhi

Trailer of Salman Khan’s Eid release Sikandar was launched on Sunday. As in the case of Salman Khan’s earlier films, he will romance a much younger actress (Rashmika Mandanna) in the film too. Salman Khan discussed the furor over this age difference in his own way at the press meet.

“They say that there is a 31-year difference between the heroine and me. If the heroine doesn’t have any problem or the heroine’s father doesn’t have any problem, then why you have any problem?” Salman Khan’s punchline left the press in splits.

Salman Khan did not stop there. “And when she (Rashmika) will marry and have a daughter and then she becomes a big star then also we will work (together). We will take the mother (Rashmika)’s permission definitely,” Salman Khan said at the event.

Complimenting Rashmika’s hard work, Salman Khan said at the event that she reminded him of his “younger self.”

“She has done her level best. She would complete the shoot of Pushpa 2 by 7 pm and join us at 9 pm, and work till 6.30 am and return to work on Pushpa 2. Then post-breakingherleg, she resumed shooting with us, and didn’t ever cancel a shoot day. She is a lot like young me,” Salman Khan said of co-star Rashmika.

Sikandar will hit the screens on March 30 on Eid. This is not the first instance when Salman Khan’s film skipped Friday-release conventionSalman Khan’s Tiger 3 in 2023 was released on a Sunday, which was Diwali. But trade analysts wondered why the actor skipped the chance of cashing in on the festive weekend.

Besides Salman Khan and Rashmika, the production also includes Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj and Sharman Joshi in key roles.

Sikandar has been produced by Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
