The report of closure found Sushant Singh Rajput's death as a "suicide" and exonerates the actress and her family from all charges.

Rhea Chakraborty appeared in public for the first time since the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) submitted a closure report on March 22, 2025, almost five years after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The report states that his death was a “suicide” and exonerates the actress and her family of all charges. Rhea is seen going to Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai with her family in a viral video. When talking to the paparazzi, she utters the words, “Ganpati Bappa Morya.”
The actress posted a few pictures from her visit to the reality show Roadies Double XX, where she was dressed in a brown leather ensemble and stood with other team leaders Rannvijay Singha, Neha Dhupia and Elvish Yadav. The caption was, “Watching vote out > = being at vote out.”
Rhea’s lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, in a statement on Saturday, thanked the CBI for a thorough probe. He pointed out that his client had to endure “untold miseries” because of false information disseminated on social media and electronic media, which led her to spend 27 days in prison “for no fault of hers.”
The CBI findings have been placed before a special court in Mumbai, which will determine if the report should be accepted or it should direct more investigation. The report clears all those who were named in the two FIRs filed in the case, including Rhea, her parents, and her brother.
Sushant Singh Rajput died in his Mumbai flat on June 14, 2020. He was 34 years old. The CBI assumed charge from Bihar Police after the father of the actor submitted a complaint in Patna alleging abetment of suicide. In the course of their probe, the CBI took statements of Rhea and the people around the actor and gathered his medical reports.
AIIMS forensic experts gave the CBI a definitive medico-legal opinion rejecting allegations of “poisoning and strangling” in the case.
