Ballia, March 25: A 24-year-old photographer, Chandan Bind, was brutally murdered in Ballia after allegedly making his pictures of a married woman viral on Instagram, which infuriated her family and in-laws. The police have arrested the woman‘s brother and her cousin in relation to the crime.
According to police reports, the accused lured Chandan to an agricultural field on the night of March 18, where he was stabbed multiple times before his body was dumped in a wheat field. His body was discovered five days later, on March 23, and the arrests were made on Monday.
Motive Behind the Murder
Circle Officer Mohammad Faheem said Chandan had been in touch with the married woman, Surendra Yadav‘s sister, even after her wedding. She had refused to meet him but he kept calling her at her in-laws‘ residence. Chandan allegedly published her photos on Instagram, causing trouble within her family. The woman was disturbed by the situation and told this to her family, which motivated Surendra to plan for revenge.
Planned Attack on Holi Night
During Holi, Surendra befriended Chandan on fake terms and employed someone else’s phone to invite him to a secluded field on March 18 night. There, he and his cousin Rohit Yadav attacked Chandan, killing him with stabs, and dumped his body.
