Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’ Registers Modest Eid Boost at Box Office, Fails to Meet High Expectations
Although there was an Eid boost, Sikandar rakes in Rs 29 crore on Monday, failing to live up to the hype surrounding Salman Khan's earlier festive season blockbusters.

Salman Khan‘s new movie, Sikandar, directed by A.R. Murugadoss, received a marginal increase in box office collections during Eid, with Rs 29 crore. The movie, though, did not live up to expectations, with divided audience response and below–par footfalls.
Mumbai: Salman Khan’s new movie, Sikandar, helmed by A.R. Murugadoss, saw a marginal improvement in box office collections on Monday as the nation celebrated Eid. The film, though, could not garner the huge turnout that was expected on the festive holiday.
As per initial estimates by trade monitor Sacnilk, Sikandar collected Rs 29 crore on Eid.
Although this represented growth from its day of release, the collections were below expectations for a Salman Khan film festival release. The film recorded 24.60% overall Hindi occupancy, with the best collections noted at evening and night shows.
Trade pundits had indicated a blockbuster outing for Sikandar, looking at Salman Khan‘s huge fan base and past trend of Eid releases of his doing phenomenally well. Nonetheless, early signs indicate that the movie has struggled to create the kind of excitement that his last Eid blockbusters had.
Industry experts believe that Sikandar could see steadier collections over the weekdays if positive word-of-mouth helps sustain interest. However, with stiff competition from other releases and mixed audience reactions, the film’s long-term box office trajectory remains uncertain.
The next few days will be decisive in deciding if Sikandar will be able to regain its momentum or if it will be content with a steady run at the box office. Viewers and critics both will be closely observing to check if Salman Khan‘s popularity will revamp the fortunes of the film.
