Although Sikandar has got mixed reviews, Salman Khan's star power has taken it over Rs 85 crore in three days. But the Bollywood superstar has criticized the industry for remaining silent about his movie, saying that even he needs support

Salman Khan responds to Bollywood’s silence regarding Sikandar by stating, “Even I need support, but they think I don’t.” Although it has received mixed reviews, the film has already earned Rs 85 crore in three days and will cross Rs 100 crore in the near future.
Despite Sikandar receiving mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike, Salman Khan’s star power has once again proved unstoppable. The film has defied expectations at the box office, raking in over Rs 85 crore in just three days and is poised to become Salman’s 18th film to enter the Rs 100-crore club.
But in the midst of the movie’s box office success, a viral video from one of Salman’s recent interviews has set tongues wagging regarding Bollywood’s selective endorsement.
‘Everybody Needs Support, Including Me’ Salman’s Frank Admission
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, the presenter noted how the Hindi cinema industry has so far kept mum about Sikandar, even as Salman has been continuosly endorsing films of his colleague and pals.
Responding to this, Salman expressed his own opinion and said:
“Unko aisa lagta hoga ki zaroorat nahin padti mujhe. (Maybe they think I don’t need their support.)”
But he was quick to explain his position:
“But, sabko zaroorat padti hai. (Everybody needs support, including me.)”
Industry’s Selective Support?
Salman Khan has, throughout the years, been famous for advocating and launching films of other actors, be they debutantes or established celebrities. His so-called disappointment over the absence of industry-wide support for Sikandar has ignited rumors regarding Bollywood’s selective supporting of films.
Though the silence from Bollywood is palpable, Salman’s fans have come out in his support, and Sikandar continues to rule the box office. As the film reaches the Rs 100-crore mark, it is left to be seen if Bollywood speaks up about its success or keeps mum.
For the time being, Salman Khan’s words are a reminder that even the industry’s biggest stars require support a message that has resonated with his huge fan base.
