Singer Abhijit Bhattacharya accuses: “A. R. Rahman made Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan award winners sit on the bench for 2-3 hours”

Abhijeet Bhattacharya levels serious charges against Rahman while narrating his experience of recording a song for the film 'Dil Hi Dil Mein'

Singer Abhijit Bhattacharya revealed in an interview that Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan award winners had to stand for 2-3 hours waiting in A. R. Rahman’s studio. He reminisced about the experience when recording the song “Ae Nazneen Suno Na” during an interview with ANI.

Mumbai :During an interview with ANI, Bhattacharya spoke about an experience from their only collaboration together on the song Ae Nazneen Suno Na of the 1999 film Dil Hi Dil Mein.

Veteran playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has leveled serious charges regarding the professional behavior of music composer A. R. Rahman in a recent interview. In an interview with ANI, Abhijeet narrated his experience while recording the song “Ae Naazneen Suno Na” for the movie “Dil Hi Dil Mein” (1999).

Abhijeet mentioned that renowned awardees such as Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan were forced to sit on benches in the studio of Rahman for two to two and a half hours. “Rahman sahib did not descend. It was two-three hours, and people were sitting talking to one another,” he stated.

Expanding on his experience, Abhijeet explained, “I sang the song and his assistant was recording it. I left after singing the song ‘Ae Nazneen Suno Na’. I was shocked to see the manner in which the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardees were greeted.”

Abhijeet’s comment has again raised an issue in Bollywood and the music industry. Even though A. R. Rahman’s conduct has not been doubted so far, this accusation has initiated a new debate.
