Houses of Two Lashkar Terrorists Linked to Pahalgam Attack Destroyed in Explosion

In a major development in the on-going probe of the recent Pahalgam terror attack, security personnel in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday night destroyed the residence of Asif Sheikh, who is a suspected LeT militant implicated in the attack. The operation took place last night and left two houses belonging to LeT people destroyed due to an explosion caused by explosives which were planted within the houses.

Security personnel were carrying out search operations at the residences of two suspected terrorists, Asif Sheikh of Tral in Pulwama district and Adil Hussain Thokar of Anantnag district, when the explosives went off, as per a report by news agency PTI. The explosions resulted in the total annihilation of both homes.

Adil Hussain Thokar has also become one of the key suspects in Tuesday’s attack on Pahalgam. Sheikh is also suspected to be involved in the plot behind the attack.

While PTI has quoted officials in connection with the incidents, HT is not verifying the facts independently. The case once again brings to the fore the difficulty in curbing terrorism in the region for security forces.
