The event, held virtually, was organised at 47 locations throughout the nation.

Congratulations to the appointees, PM Modi stressed the significant role of young people in the country’s building. “With your new roles, you now have a significant role to play in developing India’s economy, infrastructure, internal security, and welfare of its citizens. The more committed you are, the quicker we move towards a Viksit Bharat,” he added.

Prime Minister credited the youths as the driving force of the quick development in India, reaffirming that if young generations are stakeholders for a country to progress, nations progress rapidly. He also credited other self-employment platforms such as Skill India, Startup India, and Digital India, illustrating how programs like UPI, ONDC, and GeM have made young Indian generations trendsetters for world digital advancement.

PM Modi also highlighted the Manufacturing Mission launched in Budget 2025-26, which is a bid to bolster the ‘Make in India’ campaign and develop globally competitive products. He referred to the stupendous growth in automobile, footwear, and Khadi industries, where the latter saw a record turnover of ₹1.7 lakh crore.

On infrastructure, he credited the upsurge in water transport inland, commenting that water transportation of goods has grown phenomenally from 18 million tonnes in 2014 to 145 million tonnes today while national waterways that are functional have grown from 5 to more than 110.

In the future, PM Modi made the announcement of the forthcoming World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES 2025) in Mumbai, underlining the government’s interest in giving opportunities to the nation’s young content creators.

Referring to inclusiveness, he welcomed the increased entry of women, citing the second and first ranks bagged by women in the recent UPSC examinations. “The most encouraging aspect of the progress of our youth is that it is inclusive. Our daughters are succeeding and defining the future of India,” he asserted.

Discussing the future of technology, PM Modi emphasized the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and new media. He stated plans for conducting workshops to educate the youth in these fields, equipping India’s digital content creators for international standards.

Promoting greening of the planet, the Prime Minister challenged the youth to participate in the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative, planting trees in their mother’s name.
