US Tech Executive, 36, Dies With “Multiple Injuries” After “Fall From Height
Ms Tracey's husband, Adam Beckerink, is a prominent Chicago tax lawyer. He was arrested months after that on March 7, 2025, on a fugitive warrant issued in Michigan.
A 36-year-old American technology executive was discovered dead under strange circumstances in the stairwell of the high-rise condo building where she resided with her husband. Caitlin Tracey, the former Chief People Officer of business management consultant firm Nousot, died of “multiple injuries” and a “fall from height” in October 2024, reported the New York Post. The Cook County Medical Examiner on Monday validated the circumstances of her death, saying she fell over 20 stories down an elevator shaft of her husband’s high-end condo building. But officials explained that they have yet to figure out how and why she fell, and recorded her mode of death as “undetermined.”.
Ms Tracey’s husband, Adam Beckerink, is a prominent Chicago tax lawyer. He was arrested months later on March 7, 2025, on a fugitive warrant out of Michigan. Nevertheless, the arrest is not related to his wife’s senseless death according to the Chicago Police. Cops indicated the Michigan warrant was issued on charges of domestic violence in Berrien County, where Ms Tracey had shared a New Buffalo residence both prior to and during their six-month union.
Mr Beckerink was taken in and interrogated by Chicago police when he reported his wife missing prior to her body being discovered in October. He was subsequently released on charges, the outlet stated.
Ms Tracey’s death initially led to a death investigation, but charges were not made or a suspect named, the cops said. But today, weeks since the accident, Ms Tracey’s family is lobbying to maintain focus on the case as lawyers retained by them are convinced that her body was “pulverised,” and her foot chopped off in the accident. They blamed Ms Tracey’s husband for unleashing a private “campaign and abuse of terror” upon her during her last minutes. Their complaint coincided with their fighting Mr Beckerink to gain custody over their daughter’s body. Mr Beckerink claimed that he had a right to her body since he was the surviving spouse. However, the parents later gained custody of her body, which they took back to Michigan.
Mr Beckerink, however, was also dismissed from his law firm upon the allegations of domestic abuse. The warrant issued against him claimed the 46-year-old had assaulted Ms Tracey and had taken some of her belongings. Ms Tracey “had cuts on her lips and other red markings,” the January 2024 complaint read.
In August 2024, police returned to Ms Tracey’s Michigan residence and charged Mr Beckerink with four offenses stemming from the incident, including domestic violence, interfering with electronic communications and resisting and obstruction.
Mr Beckerink was in protective custody at the Cook County Jail after being arrested on March 7. It is not known where the case in Michigan is at present. It is not known if the new medical examiner findings alter the direction of the Chicago Police Department’s investigation into the death of the tech exec.
