Couple Murders 5-Year-Old Girl To “End” Their Miseries, Buried Body In The Backyard

A couple has been arrested in Goa for allegedly murdering a 5-year-old girl from their local area and hiding the body in their backyard, an official informed on Friday.
Accused Babasaheb Alar (52) and wife Pooja (45) have informed the police that a practitioner of the occult had told them to “sacrifice” a child in order to “finish” their troubles, the officer said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Ponda) Shivram Vaigankar informed the media that parents of the child had lodged a complaint that she had gone missing on Wednesday.
CCTV footage revealed that the child went into the house of the accused but never returned, Vaigankar said. During the interrogation, the childless couple admitted to killing the girl on the recommendations of a person who was indulging in black magic, he said.
The pair thought that “sacrificing a child” would end their troubles, the official added. They also informed police that they had interred the body in their compound, the official added.
The two have been charged with murder and destruction of evidence, he added.
