Gurugram Man’s Body In UP Canal, ‘Suicide Point’ In Search History

Last Wednesday, Prince Rana went out of the house without telling anyone where he was headed. He also did not take his phone with him.

Prince Rana had been working in a Gurugram-based firm. The decomposed remains of a 33-year-old man who resides at Gurugram were found in a Ghaziabad canal last night, a week since he departed home and failed to return. Prince Rana, according to his familywas from Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh and was working as a project manager at an app aggregator in Gurugram.

Last Wednesday, Prince had gone out of the house without telling anyone where he was heading. He had also left behind his phone. His wife went to the police and a missing person report was filed the following day. The family has claimed that the history on his phone indicated that he had searched for ‘suicide points’.

Ghaziabad police were last night informed that a body was recovered near Gangnahar canal. Police checked the decomposed body and discovered a wallet that contained Prince’s Aadhaar card. His identity was later confirmed by his family members. Police informed that autopsy will determine the cause of death. The matter will be investigated further by Gurugram police since the missing complaint was registered there.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Siddharth Gautam added Prince Rana had stepped out of his house in Gurugram Sector 22 on January 15. “His wife registered a missing persons report. They were searching for him. Yesterday, we recovered his body from the canal,” he added.

“We have conducted autopsy on the body. We can say anything only after autopsy. Gurugram police is probing the case. His family members claimed he had googled ‘suicide point’ on his mobile phone. Post-mortem report will give more details,” said the officer.
