female passenger traveling from Kerala to Bihar was sexually assaulted near KR Puram railway station in Bengaluru during the early hours of April 2nd. The attack took place at around 1:30 AM when the victim, who had been working in Ernakulam, reached the station with her cousin.

When the woman arrived in Bengaluru, she had informed her parents son in Bengaluru about her arrival, who told her to alight at KR Puram railway station. Thentwo of them intended to proceed towards Mahadevapura to have food when they met two men riding in an autorickshaw outside the station complex.

As per the First Information Report (FIR) lodged by the woman, her cousin was held back by one of the suspects while the other pulled her into a deserted spot and sexually assaulted her. The woman cried out for help, which alerted nearby residents, who came to her rescue and were able to catch one of the suspects. This person was later handed over to the police.

Two men, Asif and Syed Mushar, residents of the town of Mulabagilu in Karnataka’s Kolar district, have since been arrested by authorities. The Whitefield Deputy Commissioner of Police says Asif is the main accused in the sexual assault, while Syed Mushar is suspected of holding the victim’s cousin hostage during the assault.

complaint has been filed, and the case is still under investigation as police struggle to compile more evidence and information around this unfortunate event. The police have called for any other information to come forward as they continue to increase security around the area.
