Man Allegedly Kills Live-In Partner In Gurugram, Arrested
The accused was Shiv Shankar Sharma, alias Kali Charan, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, while the victim was Rita, a native of Bihar.

A crime branch team of Gurugram Police arrested a man for allegedly murdering his live-in girlfriend on March 11, police announced on Monday.
The accused was Shiv Shankar Sharma, alias Kali Charan, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, and the victim was Rita, a native of Bihar.
Police informed that on March 11, news was received that the body of a woman was recovered in Naharpur village.
An official informed that after receiving the news, the police party reached the location where the body of a woman was found covered with a blanket in a field area in Naharpur village.
“The police unit arrived at the scene and had the body examined by the scene-of-crime and fingerprint units, and left the body in the mortuary for postmortem and identification,” he said.
He further stated that on March 31, the victim was identified by her father as his daughter, Rita, who lived in the Naharpur village of Manesar in rented premises and informed the police in his complaint that his daughter Rita got married 11 years ago.
“Five years ago, Rita and her husband came to the village of Naharpur and began living on rent and began working here. He left his daughter in Naharpur due to a quarrel between his daughter and her husband. His daughter began staying in a relationship with one Shiv Shankar, alias Kalicharan, after that,” he said to the police.
The official further added that the body of a woman was recovered in the fields.
“He suspects that Shiv Shankar, alias Kali charan, has killed his daughter,” police added.
He added that on the received complaint, a case was registered under the concerned sections in Police Station Manesar, Gurugram.
“During the investigation, the police arrested the accused on Monday from Naharpur in Gurugram. In the initial police interrogation, it was found that the accused was in a relationship with Rita,” he said.
He added that the accused used to work as a laborer, and Rita worked in a company in IMT Manesar itself.
Sandeep Kumar, Gurugram Police Spokesperson, informed that the accused suspected that Rita was dating someone else and, for that reason, on February 23, the accused murdered her and threw her into a wheat field.
He explained that for investigation, the accused will be produced in court and is under custody of the police.
