Meerut Murder Accused Pregnant. What Dead Man’s Brother Said

Meerut Murder Case: Chief Medical Officer Dr Ashok Kataria on Monday revealed that Muskan had undergone a preliminary test, which established that she was pregnant.

Meerut:

A day after Muskan Rastogi, her lover’s accused along with her of murdering her husband and who is currently being housed in a jail here, tested positive for pregnancy in an initial test, the brother of the deceased on Tuesday stated that he would adopt the child if Saurabh Rajput can be proven to be the father.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Ashok Kataria on Monday stated that Muskan had been tested for the initial test, and her pregnancy was detected.

Talking to the media, Bablu Rajput, Saurabh Rajput’s brother, stated, “If the child belongs to my brother Saurabh’s, we will adopt and bring up the child.” Muskan’s family did not react.

Saurabh Rajput, who was a retired Merchant Navy official, was murdered on the evening of March 4 at his residence in Meerut district’s Indiranagar. His wife, Muskan, and her boyfriend, Sahil, have been accused of poisoning him and stabbing him to death.

As per sources from the jail, Sahil’s grandmother Pushpa had visited on Monday to see him at the jail. None of the relatives of Muskan have visited the jail to see her, they said.

Senior Jail Superintendent Dr. Viresh Raj Sharma told that Muskan will now get an ultrasound test, so that the pregnancy condition can be cleared.

When asked if Muskan has been told about her pregnancy, he said to PTI, “It may be possible that the doctor might have told Muskan (about the pregnancy). But, the jail administration has not told her yet. She will be told only after the pregnancy is confirmed with the ultrasound test.” Sharma on Monday had stated that health check-ups and pregnancy tests are conducted regularly for every female prisoner arriving at the jail and Muskan’s test was also a part of it.

He added that he has not yet received the doctors’ report and has only been verbally informed that Muskan is pregnant.

Dr Kataria added that the next step would be an ultrasound test, which will confirm the condition and length of the pregnancy.

Muskan and Sahil had allegedly cut Saurabh’s body into pieces, chopped off his head and hands, and concealed them in a blue drum with cement.

The probe into the sensational case found that Muskan allegedly began plotting the murder in November 2023.

The accused are now in judicial custody.

Muskan is taking up sewing work in the jail, whereas Sahil is doing agricultural work, prison sources added. Both of them have also been incorporated into the rehabilitation programme with assistance from a drug de-addiction centre.
