Smashed Them Against Wall”: Hyderabad Pet Parent Slaughters 5 Stray Puppies

In a tragic irony, Ashish, who is a businessman by profession, is also a pet parent and slaughtered the puppies when he was on a walk with his dog.

Hyderabad:

In a shocking incident of animal cruelty at a residential apartment complex in Hyderabad, a man murdered five newborn puppies by throwing them against the wall and floor and hitting them with stones in the basement parking area of the apartment complex. Ironically, Ashish, a businessman, is a pet owner and murdered the puppies when he was taking his dog for a walk. A police case has been filed on the complaint of residents.

Shocking video shot at the Indis VB residential apartment parking shows Ashish moving around with his dog. The dog goes near a newborn puppy. Ashish then picks up the small one and crushes it on the ground. He then sits down on his haunches, as if to see if the puppy is breathing. Ashish then steps on the puppy.

The five puppies were discovered dead in the parking lot with signs of severe injuries. When questioned, Ashish first claimed he was attempting to “control” the puppies and prevent them from approaching his dog. The CCTV footage revealed otherwise. When questioned by neighbours about what damage five-day-old puppies could inflict, he had no answer.

Later, in a video, Ashish is seen admitting that he killed the puppies. “I hit them with a rock and smashed them against the wall.” Asked if the puppies had harmed him, he replied, “No”. When asked if he had something against stray dogs, he said, “Sometimes, they bark and attack.” He also said he is a pet parent and has a dog.

In one of the videos, as his neighbours can be seen accosting him, Ashish begins to sob. His wife can be seen attempting to diffuse the situation. “Ask him what he did; he has killed puppies,” a neighbour is heard telling someone. She can also be shown the video wherein he beats a puppy. “You are dangerous to society,” one of his neighbours says.

Cruelty against animals is a criminal offense under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Prevention of Cruelty Against Animals Act.
