A Man in Lucknow Was Tricked Out of ₹28 Lakh in a Matrimony App Gaming Scam

After being tricked by a woman into investing in a fraudulent online gaming platform through a matrimony application, a resident of Lucknow lost an incredible ₹28 lakh.

Police reports state that the accused and victim connected via the matrimony app. She won his trust and convinced him to invest in tkt-dreamwin.com, a gaming website that offered impressive returns on deposits. Between June 19 and July 10, the man transferred funds nine times, expecting profits that never materialized.

The woman ended all contact with him after he tried to withdraw his earnings and was blocked from the platform. The victim complained to the Lucknow Cybercrime Cell after realizing he had been duped.Authorities have since registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the operators of the fraudulent website and their accomplices.

Because they combine financial exploitation with emotional manipulation, dating and matrimony app frauds are increasing, according to Brijesh Kumar Yadav, head of the city’s cybercrime unit. “When victims think relationships or trust are at stake, they frequently lower their defenses.”

The incident, according to experts, is a part of a larger trend in which cybercriminals combine fraudulent investment schemes with romance scams. Victims lose their life savings after being seduced by the prospect of large returns as well as a personal connection.

Police have advised people to be extremely cautious, check online sites before making investments, and refrain from sending big sums of money based only on online exchanges. The case is a sobering reminder that scammers lurking in the shadows can use trust as a weapon in the digital age.
