Navi Mumbai Police Help Citizens Reunite with Their Lost Phones Worth ₹25 Lakh
In a heartwarming initiative, the Navi Mumbai Police have successfully returned 122 lost and stolen mobile phones — worth a total of ₹25 lakh — to their rightful owners.
Every day, people in Navi Mumbai lose their phones while travelling in crowded buses and trains, shopping in busy markets, or simply going about their work. For many, losing a phone is more than just losing a gadget — it’s losing treasured photos, memories, important contacts, and personal messages.
Understanding this emotional stress, the police formed a special team to track down these missing phones. Over the past three months, the team used CEIR data (a database that helps trace mobile devices), conducted technical checks, and even reached out to people using the SIM cards inside the lost phones.
Their efforts paid off as they managed to trace phones not just within Maharashtra, but from other states too. Each recovered phone was then handed back to its owner — bringing smiles, relief, and gratitude.
The police have encouraged citizens to always report phone theft or loss immediately, assuring that they will continue their efforts to help people get their valuable belongings back.
