Before its release, "The Devil" reportedly netted over ₹3.5 crore, and early audience responses promise a good commercial start supported by frenzied fan celebrations

Huge fan response & raging collections

“The Devil” released in theatres with a phenomenal response as fans crowded the early morning shows across the state. The movie is said to have garnered about ₹3.5 crore prior to its release, which speaks volumes about the excitement brought about by the comeback of Darshan on screen. Almost ₹2.52 crore of this came from the staunch fans who made heavy contributions toward advance ticket sales.

And within hours, the tickets for the first-day show were sold out, thus houses were full across Karnataka. In major cities like Bengaluru, nearly 30 shows were lined up by multiplexes in one single day owing to high demand. The buzz around the film ensured theatres remained packed right from the morning slots.

The film gained the momentum despite low promotional activities by the actor owing to various controversies in which he was embroiled. Still, the aggressive advance bookings reflected the unmatched star fan power and the hype created in the last couple of weeks.
