Virat Kohli set to feature in Vijay Hazare Trophy for Delhi
Star batsman confirms participation, signals return to domestic 50-over cricket after almost 15 years

Kohli to rejoin Delhi squad for VHT
As confirmed by DDCA president Rohan Jaitley, Virat Kohli has signed up to play for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Speaking on December 2, Jaitley mentioned that Kohli has communicated his availability for the tournament.
This is particularly important because Kohli’s last domestic comeback to the Vijay Hazare Trophy happened back in the 2009-10 season. With the Indian team now using him only in ODI formats and Kohli stepping away from both Tests and T20Is, this decision underscores his willingness to participate in domestic competitions.
Even though Kohli has confirmed that he is interested, his appearances for Delhi may not be a given in every single match. The tournament, starting on December 24, will run into mid-January. His appearances are likely to depend on India’s international schedule and selection plans.
This development comes off the back of Kohli indicating that his preparation was more mental than physical, leading many to believe he might be reluctant to return to domestic cricket. His presence, though, also fits with the BCCI’s drive to have senior players available for domestic events when possible.
