Air Force Officer Undergoes ‘Attempt To Murder’ Charges In Bengaluru Assault Case

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Devraj D made it clear that it was not a Kannadigas vs non-Kannadigas case, as there were rumors on social media when the video became viral.

 Wing Commander Shiladitya Bose, who was reportedly attacked by a biker during a “road rage” in Bengaluru, is now being charged with a case of ‘Attempt to Murder’ after the biker, Vikas Kumar, lodged a counter-case against the officer.

Both groups attacked one anotherpolice have confirmed, indicating it was not lopsided violence. The Wing Commander had posted a video previouslystating that the biker brought his car to a halt and began abusing him in Kannada, and when he noticed a DRDO sticker on his vehicle, Vikas purportedly told him, “You DRDO people.”

East Deputy Commissioner of Police Devraj D explained that it wasn’t Kannadigas vs non-Kannadigas, as allegations were made on social media when the video went viral.

Police, acting on Vikas’ complaint, registered a case under pertinent sections of the new penal code against Wing Commander Bose for ‘Attempt to Murder’, ‘ Voluntarily causing hurt’, ‘Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace’.

The breakthrough in the case follows after Wing Commander Shiladitya Bose uploaded a video, with blood on his face and neck, recounting the incident.

Yesterday, Wing Commander Bose claimed that “A bike came from behind and blocked our car. the fellow began abusing me in Kannada. When they noticed the DRDO sticker on my vehicle and said ‘You DRDO people’, and abused my wife and me, I couldn’t tolerate it. The moment I stepped out of my vehicle, the biker struck me on my forehead with a key, and there was blood.” Squadron Leader Madhumita Bose, the wife of the officer, was dropping her husband to the airport early morning from DRDO Colony in CV Raman Nagar, Bengaluru.

The following day, a clip appeared where the officer and the accused, Vikas Kumar, fought on a pavement in Bengaluru. The officer pushed the accused, who wore a green neon jacket, and grabbed his neck while his wife tried to hold him backOther people on the footpath intervened to separate themappealing to Wing Commander Bose. The suspect was witnessed dialingthen the officer struck him. The man collapsed to the floor and kicked the officer who pursued him as residents attempted to hold him back.

A minimum of four CCTV clips of the “road rage” surfacedin which both sides were attacking one another. The policeman in the clip claimed that individuals arrived and “began abusing” them, and the man took a stone and attempted to break it on his car window, and it struck his head.

The Bengaluru Police commissioner, B Dayananda, mentioned that they have acted on the basis of the CCTV clips. He requested the people to go to the cops and not social media after the officer posted a video on Instagram, describing what had happened. The Bengaluru police commissioner stated even when you go social media, “it has to be factual”, further stating that “If people are not satisfied with the police action, then they can have complaints, but first approach us.”

Squadron Leader Madhumita complained to the police that the biker was driving recklessly and tried to hit her vehicle. She glanced at him, and the biker overtook our car and blocked our vehicle in front of us and began abusing her and her husband. The officer reported that when they stepped outside the car, the biker attacked her husband with a stone and exclaimed, “You are from DRDO, I can see the sticker. This is Kannada land. I will see you.” “I asked my husband to sit in the car, but he came again and pulled him on the road.the mob was beating us.”

‘Case Of Road Rage’

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Devaraj D stated, “This is a case of road rage. An altercation had occurred, and both parties attacked one another.His wife was driving, and he was sitting next to her. An altercation between the couple and a bike rider had ensued.”

Wing Commander Bose sustained face and head injuries.

“When they arrived at the police station, the police officer told him to take first aid, as he was bleeding, and come back to file the FIR. But he was running late, and he went to the airport. After going live with the video, we managed to get Madhumita’s details and reached out to the DRDO quarters. She reported to the station and complained. We have registered an FIR,” the DCP said.

While being questioned, the accused said he was walking by when the woman allegedly made the comment. He stated, he inquired, “What are you saying?” and then walked up to the officer, inquiring, “What is madam saying?” There was an argument. “We have sufficient video evidence and will go ahead with the investigation,” the DCP further stated.
