Navi Mumbai: History-Sheeter Arrested with Narcotics Worth ₹15.83 Lakh in Kalamboli

Thane/Navi Mumbai: In a significant drug bust, the Navi Mumbai Police have arrested a 33-year-old repeat offender for allegedly possessing heroin and ganja worth ₹15.83 lakh. The arrest was made following a tip-off to the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC), officials said on Tuesday.

The accused, identified as Rajan Bala Rathod, was apprehended at Kalamboli Steel Market, where authorities discovered 1.8 kg of ganja and 30 grams of heroin in his possession.

Senior Inspector Sandeep Nigade said, “Rajan Bala Rathod is a known history-sheeter and has been involved in similar offenses in the past. Acting on credible information, our team conducted a search and recovered the narcotics. He has now been taken into custody for further investigation.”

This bust highlights the ongoing efforts of the Navi Mumbai police to curb the circulation of illegal drugs in the city. Officials have assured strict action against drug traffickers and emphasized their commitment to keeping public spaces safe from narcotics.

The authorities are now investigating Rathod’s connections and the possible supply chain for the seized drugs, while the accused remains in police custody.

Senior Inspector Nigade added, “We urge citizens to report any suspicious activity related to narcotics. Community cooperation is crucial in preventing the distribution of illegal substances and ensuring safety in our neighborhoods.”
