New Zealand Hold Nerve to Clinch Another Last-Over Thriller Against West Indies
Despite a valiant lower-order fightback from the visitors, New Zealand sealed victory by nine runs to go 2-1 up in the T20I series.

Jamieson keeps cool as Kiwis survive late scare
New Zealand once again found themselves in a tense finish, but this time they came out on top — edging past the West Indies by nine runs in another last-over thriller in Nelson.
The Kiwis batted first and set up a competitive total of 177/9 with Devon Conway anchoring the innings through a patient 56 off 56, while Daryl Mitchell injected momentum with a brisk 41 off 24. Though the middle order faltered toward the end, their total proved just enough on a lively surface.
The West Indies, at 88/8, seemed to be out of the game, before Romario Shepherd’s 49 and Shamar Springer’s 39 were involved in a scintillating counter-attack. The two stitched together an 78-run stand for the ninth wicket. Their partnership ignited the prospects of a dramatic chase, which kept the crowd on edge till the final over.
However, Kyle Jamieson showed nerves of steel and broke the dangerous stand to close out the game in style. Spinner Ish Sodhi also played his part, claiming 3 for 34, tightening the screws through the middle overs.
This hard-fought victory gives New Zealand a 2-1 lead in the five-match series and reconfirms them as masters of close finishes.
