The incident occurred between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Monday, and authorities have registered a case against the unidentified suspects.
According to police officials, the thieves arrived at the ATM in an SUV and tied the machine to the vehicle using a yellow belt, attempting to pull it away. However, their plan failed, and they were forced to flee the scene empty-handed.
The criminals also damaged CCTV cameras inside the ATM cabin to avoid being identified and attempted to open the cash dispensing machine using a screwdriver. Despite their efforts, they were unable to access the cash.
Authorities described the incident as a bold but clumsy attempt, highlighting the risks criminals take in targeting financial institutions. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the bank premises suffered only minor damage.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas and have launched a manhunt to track down the culprits. Citizens are urged to report any suspicious activity near ATMs, especially during late-night hours.
The failed heist serves as a reminder of the importance of security measures in banks and ATMs, as well as the vigilance of local authorities in protecting public assets.
