Navi Mumbai: In a significant achievement, the Navi Mumbai Police have successfully traced and recovered 122 lost and stolen mobile phones valued at ₹25 lakh and returned them to their rightful owners, officials said on Friday.


How the Recovery Was Carried Out

A dedicated team of officers conducted an extensive operation over the past three months. Utilizing CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) data, the team performed technical analyses, contacted SIM card holders, and tracked mobile phones across Maharashtra and other states.

Officials highlighted that the operation involved meticulous detective work and coordination, ensuring that all recovered devices were returned safely to their owners.


Police Statement

A police official said, “This operation demonstrates our commitment to tracking down lost and stolen devices and protecting the interests of the citizens. We urge the public to report lost or stolen phones immediately so that swift action can be taken.”


Public Advisory

Authorities also reminded citizens to register lost mobile devices promptly, keep track of their IMEI numbers, and report thefts or losses to the nearest police station.


This recovery not only protects the value of the lost devices but also sends a strong message that law enforcement is actively working to curb mobile theft and misuse.
