120 Bahadur becomes the first movie to release in over 800 defence cinemas across India

The war drama is set for a special launch inside military theatres across the country, thus providing soldiers and their families a rare big-screen experience through the mobile cinema network of PictureTime

A unique initiative to uplift the spirit of India’s armed forces

The war film 120 Bahadur by Excel Entertainment will become the first-ever film in Indian military history to be released on November 21 in over 800 defence theatres. This has been enabled by PictureTime through their mobile cinema units, thereby enabling troops stationed in far-flung or remote areas to watch the movie within the confines of their bases. It allows them to connect emotionally and bring entertainment to the defence personnel and their families.

PictureTime is executing the project in association with GenSync Brat Media, aiming to extend access to cinema inside cantonments across the country. Its founder referred to the fact that a number of soldiers do not have regular access to theatres because of their postings, adding that this initiative ensures their inclusion into the cultural experiences that civilians take for granted. Bringing cinema to them is considered both an appreciation and a morale booster.

Helmed by Razneesh “Razy” Ghai and presented by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Amit Chandrra, the film chronicles the bravery witnessed in the pivotal Battle of Rezang La during the Sino-Indian War of 1962. The action drama features Farhan Akhtar, Raashii Khanna and Ankit Siwach in the lead roles, paying a tribute to bravery, patriotism and commitment to duty.

By choosing defence theatres as its first point of release, the makers seek to share with the armed forces a viewing experience that showcases sacrifices and an unflinching commitment to the nation.
