Gold-Silver prices in Hathras break all records, quiet markets, and cheerful investors
This has made gold over 1.5 times costlier and silver more than doubled in 2025, delighting investors but making buyers cautious

Prices of Precious Metals Hit Historic Highs in 2025
The prices of gold and silver in Hathras have reached never-before levels this year and have crossed all their previous records. While the price of silver has crossed ₹2,36,000 per kg, gold has shot up to almost ₹1,41,000 per 10 grams. The steep rise partly reflects a one-day jump of around ₹10,000 in silver and ₹1,200 in gold, pointing out the steep upward momentum in the bullion market.
In the last one year, silver has more than two-and-a-half times, while gold has turned over one-and-a-half times costlier. The sharp increase has brought cheer to investors who had already invested in precious metals. But it has discouraged regular customers and reduced footfall in jewellery shops across Hathras.
There is a definite change in buying behavior in the local bullion market. The traditional purchase of jewelry has slowed down, while the investment-based buying has increased. Many are now looking towards gold and silver as safe investments against economic uncertainty rather than buying on occasions such as weddings or festivals.
Jewellers in Hathras say that though prices are at an all-time high, business is slackening dramatically. Customers are cautious about fresh buying because of the prohibitive price. On the other hand, long-term investors are thrilled as the surging prices have yielded good returns on their investments.
Gold had opened the year at ₹78,800 per 10 grams, and silver was at ₹88,750 a kilogram. Gold has gained ₹62,800 since then, while silver has climbed ₹1,47,750. According to market experts, it is the improvement in global economic conditions, inflation worries, and appetite for safe-haven assets that have triggered this rally.
Other analysts still say that unless things change, the prices of these metals will continue being high for the next couple of months, thereby sustaining investor optimism but constituting a problem for buyers.
