Hardik Pandya slams paparazzi for inappropriate photos of Mahieka Sharma

The Indian all-rounder slams photographers for intruding into private moments and asks for responsible media behavior towards public figures, especially women

Pandya’s statement on media behaviour leads to debate

Hardik Pandya took to Instagram with a sharp reaction after photos of model Mahieka Sharma, clicked while she was descending a staircase at a Bandra eatery, began circulating online. He said this is an example of “cheap sensationalism” where a simple moment and a private one was used in the most despicable manner for attention without any consideration for respect or decency.

Pandya said that as a public figure, there is never a lack of attention, but this was crossing all limits. He added that no woman should ever be clicked in a manner that is demeaning and objectifying her, regardless of her celebrity or public status.

Directly addressing the media, he called for restraint on the part of photographers and entertainment portals. Pandya said that not every frame needs to be clicked and not every private moment needs to be splurged just for publicity or to attract clicks.

The episode has reopened the ongoing debate about intrusive paparazzi culture and the breach of ethics that is often ignored. Several fans and social media users have supported Pandya’s stance, terming it an important reminder that even celebrities deserve moments of privacy and basic respect.
