A new leap at horror-comedy storytelling
Ashish Chanchlani, one of the most popular content creators in India, has finally ventured into a new creative direction with his first-ever series Ekaki. After years of ruling YouTube with high-energy comedy sketches, he now enters the world of long-form storytelling with a show that amalgamates suspense, eerie elements, and his signature humor. The first episode has finally dropped, and it has received critical acclaim for maintaining Ashish’s comic touch while gradually building a darker and intrigue-laden atmosphere.
The constant teasers and music previews have kept everyone intrigued, and finally, Episode 1 reaches the expectations with a strong opening. The story works its way smoothly between spooky scenes and sharp comic beats, keeping the viewers intrigued throughout. Ashish’s expressions, timing, and familiar style bring comfort even as the plot follows unsettling mysterious moments, setting the tone of the series.
Ekaki is the largest and most ambitious project for Ashish to date, both creatively and technically speaking. The show mingles jump-scares, witty dialogues, and a gripping story-line, blending the elements of his strengths as an actor and creator. Apart from playing the lead role, he also spearheads the entire series behind the camera as its writer, director, and producer.
The project is supported by a talented team from his long-time collaborators. Kunal Chhabhria co-produces the series, while Akash Dodeja plays an important parallel role. Jashan Sirwani oversees production as executive producer, and Tanish Sirwani shapes the show’s visual identity as creative director. Co-written with Grishim Nawanii, the screenplay comes to life with Ritesh Sadhwani handling line production.
With Episode 1 streaming exclusively on ACV Studios’ YouTube channel, Ekaki promises a heady mix of fear and fun. Fans have already begun to like this whole new direction in the bold journey of Ashish.
