Indian Army Celebrates Vijay Diwas, Showcases Defence Innovations Made in India
Vijay Diwas celebrations mark self-reliance as the army showcases latest indigenous innovations at a New Delhi event
Celebrating Victory and Self-Reliance
The Indian Army celebrated Vijay Diwas with an “At Home” function at Army House, which is situated in New Delhi and represents the historical victory that took place during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War. The celebration included President Droupadi Murmu, top government defense authorities, as well as foreign diplomats and other guest attendees. Vijay Diwas is a reminder for the nation about the heroism and sacrifice that took place on behalf of Indian forces, which resulted in Bangladesh’s formation.
In his address to the attending gathering, the Indian military hierarchy praised the Armed Forces’ unwavering dedication to securing the sovereignty of India. Besides celebrating the Armed Forces’ achievements, the Indian Army focused on the future through indigenisation. One of the biggest draws at the event was the indigenous defence technologies showcased in collaboration between Indian start-ups, research organizations, and other partners. These included an AI-based analysis system for satellite images, where the data is quickly processed to help in planning and analysis. The analysis system can be applied in both defence and civil use, including the management of disaster scenarios.
The Army has also showcased artificial intelligence solutions that can operate in remote locations without internet connectivity. In addition to this, Ekam AI, an entirely safe domestic platform, has also been launched that marks an important milestone towards safeguarding crucial data that relies excessively on foreign solutions. Other technologies that were showcased include drone forensics solutions, mobile satellite communication solutions, and rapid deployment solutions.
The display highlighted the Army’s increased emphasis on a fusion of military prowess and indigenous technological mastery. The Indian Army has made efforts to focus not only on improving military preparedness for warfare but has a role to play in the development of the country.
