A Significant Casting Shift for the Drishyam Series
Drishyam 3, one of Bollywood’s long-awaited sequels, has observed a considerable casting changeover, as Jaideep Ahlawat is tapped to substitute Akshaye Khanna, who walked out of the film unexpectedly. The movie, headlined by Ajay Devgn, along with Tabu and Shriya Saran, is to hit theaters in October 2026.
According to the producers of the movie, the talks with Akshaye Khanna had broken down over terms and conditions. Although there had been an initial agreement and an advance payment, the talks had stalled. Consequently, the producers decided to go ahead with the project despite lacking Akshaye Khanna’s participation to ensure there were no delays in the timelines of the project.
The producer, Kumar Mangat Pathak, has later confirmed that a legal notice was also sent to Khanna for the losses they experienced due to the sudden withdrawal from the show. However, according to Pathak, they are confident in the latest addition to the cast, Jaideep Ahlawat, citing the fact that he has both acting and reliability credentials. They think he will inject a newfound intensity to the story.
The addition of Jaideep Ahlawat is already creating waves among fans, as they are waiting eagerly to know how his character is going to bring fresh life into the next installment of the thrilling series. As production is going on smoothly, Drishyam 3 is still at the forefront, mixed with high anticipation on the big screen and equal drama on the sets.
