Reports of gunfire, blasts at paramilitary headquarters in Pakistan’s Peshawar
Armed attackers, including at least one suicide bomber, targeted the Federal Constabulary headquarters, triggering explosions and a full security lockdown

Area sealed as forces confront militants inside the compound
Armed attackers stormed the headquarters of the Federal Constabulary in Peshawar early on Monday morning; explosives and rounds of relentless gunfire reverberated throughout the busy locality near a military cantonment. Initial media updates described that one suicide attacker blew himself up at the entrance, while another bomber reportedly managed to enter the premises before detonating inside the compound.
The authorities have confirmed at least three people dead in this attack, among both FC personnel and the attackers. A senior official told Reuters that the first bomb exploded near the gate, the second deeper inside the facility, suggesting a coordinated assault aimed at breaching the compound’s defenses.
Security forces, including police and army units, quickly surrounded the area, putting a strict cordon in place. Officers believe further militants may be located inside the headquarters, and they are proceeding with caution as they move in to secure the building and neutralize any remaining threat.
Local residents said that they heard two heavy, thunderous explosions followed by heavy firing, which created panic in the area. The headquarters of FC is located in a densely populated area, and its proximity to a military cantonment heightened fears as the exchange of fire continued inside the besieged compound.
