Mbappé Powers France to Seal Spot at World Cup 2026
With a commanding performance in Paris, Kylian Mbappé starred as France booked their place in next summer's global showpiece.

Dominant Display Seals Qualification
It was a resounding display, with the French national team booking their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup by defeating Ukraine 4-0 on home turf, courtesy of two match-defining goals from Kylian Mbappé.
The French never relinquished control after taking the early lead, dominating possession and creating wave after wave of attacks. Mbappé’s first strike came from the penalty spot in the 55th minute, coolly chipped into the centre of the goal after Michael Olise was brought down.
Shortly after, Olise himself curled in the second goal, and Mbappé added the third from a rebound in the 83rd minute. Substitute Hugo Ekitiké wrapped up the scoring with his first international goal.
The victory ensures France finish atop Group D with an unassailable lead and seals their place at the next World Cup. Reuters
That’s a strong endorsement of their consistency: France remain unbeaten in European qualifying matches since 2019, a win that further cements their status as one of the heavyweights heading into 2026.
