August 7, 2025, Muzaffarpur— In a significant development today, the Muzaffarpur Police, responding to a tip, dismantled an interstate cyber-fraud syndicate and detained four people who defrauded ₹8.33 crore by posing as a phony non-governmental organization.

When officers responded to a fight between three young men at a hotel close to SKMCH in the Ahiyapur jurisdiction, the plan fell apart. The results of their investigation showed that the suspects were running a fraudulent organization called “Ram Pyari Nandlal Seva Sansthan,” which they used to carry out extensive financial frauds.

Among the people arrested are Vikram Kumar Singh from Bihar, Krishna Kumar Singh, and Abhishek Pandey from Uttar Pradesh. Guddu Kumar, who admitted to creating phony Aadhaar cards and aiding these cyberfraud schemes, was apprehended following a concerted raid in the Mushahari region. From their possession, forensic teams retrieved laptops, biometric devices, bank documents, cell phones, phony NGO stamps, enrollment receipts, and other incriminating evidence.

A Special Investigation Team has been established by law enforcement to look into more general leads. To date, more than 20 cyber-fraud complaints have surfaced from various states nationwide, connected to gang-affiliated bank accounts and mobile numbers.

The case highlights the growing sophistication and geographic reach of cybercriminal networks leveraging forged documentation and digital tools to exploit unsuspecting victims. Authorities warn the public to verify credentials rigorously before engaging with online entities that promise financial returns or philanthropic benefits.
